All the students are now done with window frames and started with "the sash" (opening part of the window). Each student will have to draw the sash and also draw up a cutting list for his sash. The reason being that because of some errors when making the frame, the sizes differs for each student. (The sash they make has to fit their frame which means that all their dimensions will be different).
Next they will all use the skills learned by making the frame and make the sash in their own pace individually. They will learn to trust themselves and to set up machines correctly on their own.
We have experienced some power cuts again, so we went outside and learned to build a scaffold. We took it a little further and broke up in teams of four and had a competition to see who can build it quickly and safely. The students had fun and learned a valuable skill. The first guys made all the mistakes and the winning team could avoid these and completed the task in almost half the time of the starting team.
The students are excited to use our new planer and here you can see them being busy with wood that was used for the cupboards and shelving during the Willowmore outreach. God is good to us and we can live out His goodness towards others. Much thanks to Khayamandi Foundation for supporting us financially and we being able to purchase the planer
The students were excited to have a short two week break and one actually jumped high in class with excitement. After the President’s speech however and the country being at Level 4 again, they are not that excited anymore - one said that after being at home for a week, he was bored and wanted to come back.
Many thanks to all that support us in your different ways
A special thanks from the students to the teams that provide lunch.
Your efforts are invaluable. If anyone wants to get involved in serving others, you could gather a team and provide 5 loaves of bread in the form of sarmies each Wednesday. Making it a team effort will ensure that you are not doing it all alone week after week.
