The reason and the opportunity



iThemba means “hope” and was started at first mainly to give hope to women and upskill them so that they could become self-sustainable and contributing members of society. The programme evolved to also now include men who attend basic computer training.


The courses are mainly sewing, beading and basic computer skills. The sewing course is also a one year course and ladies are taught basic sewing skills which include life skills and business skills.
